This is attempt No 6 finished came out larger than I planned. 6 3/4in cutting edge instead of a 5 1/2in cutting edge. Not to bad on weight but heavier than most my Viking axes of this style 2lbs 5oz. Was finally able to get the large square eye poll. HEAD: steel 5160 forged, cutting edge 6 3/4in inches, bit to poll length 5in, hammer poll 1/2in long, 1in wide, 3/4in high, overall head length 7 1/4in. HANDLE: Ash 28in long. OVERALL LENGTH: 30 3/4in. WEIGHT: 2lb 5oz.

It was made for someone along time ago if he backs out it will be up for sale. Don't know if I will never do another one like this the square eye poll was a real semprini to do. If I do it agian I would prefer to do it with a tear shape eye poll. This one took me 6 tries to get right. For the people who know me I usaually don't give up.

Are you trying to chop through the moon? Jeebus. No rifle barrel, swords or a tank, it's the katana of axes. Just remember I'm a katana person have several of them.

No not really, just remember others saying this. Like I said I own several katana 24. I do think this axe could at least chop soft iron with little edge damage.

I honestly didn't know you were in to katanas. Never would have guessed.

I'll bet your axe is nasty quick and handles very well, especially with that square pole. Relatively light and very lethal, and with a nice long beard. Any Viking would give his eye teeth to have it. Good job!

Love the axe! Add me to the list of those interested if the original buyer backs out. Would also be interested in one with a different eye shape.
But the real question is when are you going to try forging a katana?

I really don't feel like I can do a katana justice right now. Maybe one of these days I will try to do one. There is more involved in making a katana than just bending a curve in a piece of steel.
