So I broke my favorite folding knife yesterday, a knife I‘ve had for more than 15 years. So I’m in the market to get replacement. I would like it to be as close as my favorite knife as possible. So my requirements are as follows, a lock, preferably ambidextrous thumb nubs and a belt clip. I would also prefer it to be relatively cheap because I plan on actually using this knife but like I said I haven’t bought a knife in some time, so I have no idea how much a decent folding knife would cost so any recommendations?

there's TONS of knives that fit your requirements... if you can be a little more specific as to blade length, type of cutting you'll be doing, etc., that should help narrow down your search. To start with, Kershaw/Zero Tolerance make really nice knives, and not too expensive. I'd stay away from (most) Chinese produced knives, except for Spyderco (Taiwan)... blade steels usually don't hold up to use.

Why not buy the same knife you just broke? What about it you want different? What was your favorite knife?

I need it to be legal to carry concealed where I live so it can't be longer than 3 inches I prefer it to have a serrated portion and a straight on the blade but if that's not possible just straight is fine. I plan on using it for everything. I used my old knife to cut rope, paper, plastic, card board you name it I cut it. Why not buy the same knife you just broke? What about it you want different? What was your favorite knife? because I cant find it, I've been looking for one for over a year now but without any luck. like I said I bought this over 15 years ago. I don't know what it was it has no makers mark or name the only things it says is stainless made in Taiwan

Can you post a pic with the knife opened or is it stuck? Can you loosen the hex screw?

Although you can't go wrong with these three options, only the last one is under 3". The OP said " I need it to be legal to carry concealed where I live so it can't be longer than 3 inches".
