My friend Angus (Gus) Trim is well known as a good sword maker. He is less well known as an author. He worked briefly on the Mongoliad and Foreworld project with Neal Stephenson and others before branching off on his own. This is his first solo novel: Ranger Ask Not which is the first book in a series. He tells me the next couple books are well on their way to being done so if you like it it is unlikely you will have to wait stupid long times between books (I'm talking about you GRRM) I haven't read it yet but it looks like a post apocalypse world with werewolves and a fantasy adventure style that draws heavily from the pulp fiction styles of the 60's and 70's If that sounds like your thing or you just want to support Gus here's a link www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B010KUAYFK/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1435770109&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=angus+trim&dpPl=1&dpID=51kW9wpJ6oL&ref=plSrch

I have a couple books to knock down before I get to this one, but it's awesome to know that if I like it I'll have more to get now. +1 for ambitious release cycles, hahaha.

Finished the books I had on the burner, and then finished this one. Gotta say...not bad. Not bad at all. My only real complaint was that the editing in some areas was not great(my own grammar is poor, so I can't hold that against him too much, hahaha), and he accidentally would substitute the name of one character for another on a couple of occasions, which left me momentarily confused. That being said; liked the story, liked the characters, liked the settings, liked the book. I will continue to read the series. Thanks for the heads up, Tom.

might want to consider doing a review on Amazon, I'm sure Gus would appreciate it and I bet you'd be the first.

My pleasure. Not a lot of things in this world that I enjoy more than a good book.

Bought and read the second book. At least as good as the first. Shared my thoughts on Amazon, but it still hasn't posted there other than the star rating. Very good read. I'll get the third book next time I've got a few extra bucks. If you haven't checked this out yet, I would recommend that you do.

Just an update. Angus has released five of these books, and I found them to be great across the board.

Only kindle as far as I can see. Will there be an epub version? There's a free program called Calibre that allows conversion from one e format to another, and also serves as a library for all of your e books. You can convert from .mobi to .epub to another format extremely easily Here's a link to the program: calibre-ebook.com
