So, did anyone buy any of the Kult of Athena Longquan forged jian's or daos? Just curious if anyone actually owns or has handled one and if they really are good enough for cutting.
Thanks,
Eric

I do buy directly in Longquan thru my teacher. His stuff is the real deal, has its price, but in Longquan there are so many forges/assemblers, you also can get very cheap wall hangers.
Don't know about KoA, sorry!

Gonna bump this a bit - they have very good prices. The T10 straight katana is just at $150. Hope someone tries either a Jian or their Japanese pieces and posts a review!

They appear to have quite a range of products in a variety of price ranges, all use the same folded metal. I'm also curious to know if anyone has bought one yet, and what the verdict is on the quality.

Well, that's not promising that it chipped so easily. I love the look of folded steel, but unless done well I'd read it can have weak points. It certainly looks nice in the K of A pictures.

those pictures are deceiving, mine came with this gray coating and not the nice polish that the KoA pictures showed. Only the kissaki was nicely polished, which is where the chip took place so they may have ruined the temper during polishing now that I think of it.
