Different steels and HRC hardness. Would go for the second link, sharp and 60° compared to 55° (if you ever think of cutting stuff!)

I may be wrong, but I have the impression that both swords cold be made by Huanuo...

I think you are at least partially correct in that assumption Walt. WKC katana share similarities with LL blades. So most likely their products can be tracked down to Huanuo spinoffs or directly to Huanuo.
I would get the cheaper one if I would be buying one of those. 430 vs. 1050 and the sword is pretty much the same.

Hi Jussi, I agree. You know, I have also serious doubts regarding the fact that the Takuan model would be a better cutter than the Makara, considering that my Huanuo monosteel swords cut better than the Sanmei models and moreover they rarely chip or roll as the last ones (Sanmei swords) sometimes do. They too are more resilient than their beautiful "sisters". This was at least my experience with Huanuo swords and the same goes for other friends of mine.

Strange descriptions using Japanese terms when the swords in question look like/are Chinese jian swords!

Strange descriptions using Japanese terms when the swords in question look like/are Chinese jian swords! True that, and then they talk of German steel, forged in China. Never wanted to buy with them, too suspect!
