no, as with most projects, my pickiness is creating a bit of a barrier. I've got my design altogether, and know exactly what i want to do with it, but i havent found wood suitable for my idea. I'm trying to find something that looks nice in 6+ feet, thats strong enough to handle a slim graceful shape, and isnt super expensive. I found some brazilian cherry(?) that will handle strength and length, but its not quite as "showy" as id like to see. Its strong and heavy with a really tight, light grain, but theres almost no figuring at all with it. I'd really like to see something like a light colored spalted wood with some birdseye to it. I might just have to settle,..and spend for a board of curly maple and be done with it. I'm in the process of building a new garage for my workshop / motorcycle storage area. It's summertime now, so im pretty much spending my free time either tinkering with the bikes or riding them. Once fall comes, and the garage is done, i've got a ton of projects to get to. 3 bare blades and furniture, your spearhead needs hafted, 2 more axe handles to make and my own fantasy dagger to finish up. Throw in the misc. polishing and sharpening projects, and i've got a decent back log right now. I was working your war picks in the basement, but i got sick of the sawdust, so i moved that operation out back and havent been in there since. I should be ready to start rockin some of em out by the end of october, beginning of september.

Been playing with the paper template I made for the baldric and I might actually go with a strap on the scabbard that allows me to draw the sword from my back. It'd be a damn pain trying to re sheath it but maybe it'd be extra bad ass if I did make it so I could draw it while wearing? Thoughts or suggestions?

You've got good form with the blade, as much weight forward as the blade is surprised you don't over rotate. You make it look lighter than it is.

The scabbard looks GREAT and awesome cutting to boot. I love a really nicely done wooden scabbard like that, tons of character. Nice work Chris! That thing seems pretty evil to me....in the cool evil way, not the evil evil way....

That thing seems pretty evil to me....in the cool evil way, not the evil evil way.... Thanks! I was going to round it out more and was debating maybe leather wrapping it since the figure in the wood was not turning out as I had hoped- but the shape and beveling of all the edges just sorta got my attention and made me keep it this way. Once I finally get all the leather work bits and pieces I just ordered on Ebay, I will have a go at the baldric. I went on a bit of a leather working buying spree just now and will be well set with stamps and rivets and buckles and the like for the next while. Shipping takes forever though
