Hmm, never heard of 'em. Looks interesting, I'm a bit worried with how skinny the tang is, though. 474 Pound is a good chunk of money, about $724 US. I feel like you could find better for that price, but I genuinely have no experience.

I could get it for about 550$ from a local retailer.
I think this sword doesn't have a tang, since it's made out of one piece.

It still has a tang, one piece or not. It's the part that connects the blade to the pommel, and encompasses the "grip" portion of the hilt. In the one picture on that website that shows the naked blade, it looks very thin, almost a rod shape, which is generally thought of as not good for a sword. Being one piece, as long as the angles are appropriate, structural integrity shouldn't be an issue...but what I worry about is whether the hilt will be constructed in such a fashion as to be excessively loose. This has been a plague on Chinese swords for years now, skinny tangs and almost-hollow handles that wind up coming loose and playing havoc when one has the audacity to actually use their sword...but I can't say whether this particular sword would have this problem or not.
$550 is a much more reasonable price. If you can get if from a local dealer, even better. Make a point to handle the sword as much as you can, tap the hilt a few times and make sure it's sturdy. Go from there.

Thanks alot for your input - I didn't know about the tang-issue.
Maybe I'd be better off with the Cold Steel Jade Lion Gim instead...

With the one-piece construction, they need to use a two-piece grip core. So might be better than the unfortunately common one-piece with oversized round hole drilled through.
How heavy is the King Dragon jian?
Whether or not it's better or worse than the Cold Steel depends on what you are after. If you're considering the Jade Lion, it might be worth looking at other jian made by Huanuo (who make the Jade Lion for Cold Steel). So check our the Dynasty Forge jian (which, iirc, are made by Huanuo), and jian directly from Huanuo.

According to my retailer it's 0,89 Kg. I checked all the Huanuo and Dynasty Forge stuff, but I think the Jade Lion is closest to what I'm looking for, aesthetically speaking. The combination of unique fittings, handle wrap, blade pattern and rayskin scabbart makes it very tempting. Most of the other Jians have rippled wooden handles which I personally dislike. The King Dragon Jian also comes with a handle wrap and very unique "fittings". There's also a variant with a mother of pearl ying/yang symbol instead of the yazy demon ornament: www.schwertshop.de/media/images/ws1501-atja-2.jpg

It's POB looks OK for a jian, at about 35% of the total length, at the close-in end of the range for traditional jian. From the specs (including blade thickness), should be OK. Not too far off the Cold Steel Gim, which is OK (though balanced closer to the hilt than needed).

Oh, that's very interesting, then. I noticed most of their stuff was Hanwei, but wasn't aware of these new jian. If it's Hanwei, then it should be on par with their other one-piece offerings like the Trondheim and Qi or whichever jian they had.

Nevertheless take my statement with a grain of salt for NO german vendor knows what he is doing, calling what it is, selling... :(
