I have had a few good cuts and never got stitches. Makes for cool scars.
Smart thing to do is get the stitches - even for that paper cut he posted.

It's easy, put sword on bed, rearrange wardrobe putting clothes on the bed, put the clothes away not remembering the sword and put the tip of the sword through your finger, missing the bone

My wife and kids are away for the weekend....my house is literally littered with swords right now...kitchen table, counter, here there everywhere....they are usually locked away in my basement.

It's easy, put sword on bed, rearrange wardrobe putting clothes on the bed, put the clothes away not remembering the sword and put the tip of the sword through your finger, missing the bone I do that all the time, except I've never got hurt by it. I had that blade that i made the video of out the other night. It's usually in my bedroom somewhere and when I laid down, I took it out to inspect it and see how the planes and everything were. I hadn't looked at it in a while. Well, it had been a REALLY long day and I was VERY tired. I woke up around 4 am with the blade laying across the blanket on top of me. Good thing I didn't move in my sleep. As a side note, I often have a sword on my bed. I'll just pick them up, play with them for a minute, then put them on the bed. It makes me think I'm insane or something. Like... Who would put a 3 ft implement of death on their BED? It's nice to know that I'm not the only crazy one.

I used to sleep with several swords on my bed because I had nowhere else to put them. Eventually I gave up and they now sit either against the wall or in my recliner. Rolling onto them just as I was getting into the good part of sleep was a thing I just couldn't put up with for long. Reminds me of the time I had a butterfly knife or balisong or whatever the kids call them these days sitting on a table and figured I should probably move it; didn't get as much of it as I thought I did and one side slips out of my fingers and the whole thing falls open. "Whoops, better snag the back of the blade before it goes spinning out of my hand completely," I think, as I hook my little finger around to do so aaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnd I had it upside-down. Ouch. Dealt with it for a while before everybody convinced me to go to the ER where they just glued it shut. It's still a pretty noticeable impression in my finger. Same finger, this time on the back of the knuckle, was where I learned to pay better attention to how I'm using an accusharp. Fingers inside the loop, not outside. That didn't stop bleeding for a few days, didn't want mother to know (I think I was 16?) so of course, no stitches. Aahh, sharp things...

Whatever blade that was? Welllll - you now know that it works. Please - stay safe, kill the other guy . I did sharpen it earlier this month so the cut was nice and clean

You know, it's funny... I've hurt myself plenty with knives, hammers, screwdrivers (managed to put one through the web between my right thumb and forefinger, there's still a neat square scar there), saws, even planes, all kinds of tools, once with a sword I was checking out in the smithy... but never with a sword or any other kind weapon that I own. Never. Not a single nick or bruise (unless you count one buckler I dropped on my toe that kinda smarted a little). It actually gets kind of eerie with blades that have a reputation for being "bitey" (like that one sword I was checking out in the smithy - I think I was the third to get nicked on it, not counting the smith himself).
