Hmmmm, aside from the peen that we are all talking about, that is a very nice looking sword.
I am looking at my windlass XIV, which I have now heavily modified and am thinking of swapping it with a VA monarch. The sword looks lighter and more maneuverable than my XIV.

What is the distal taper like on the Windlass Type XIV? How thick is the blade at the base, halfway down and an inch or two from the tip? I'm wondering if the mass distribution along the blade might account for a difference in the way these swords handle.

I will measure mine up, but my sword seems completely different from the official myarmoury review sword. However I have heavily modified mine so the stats are unique to this sword.
I removed the central ridge, removed the bevels and overall reduced the general mass of the blade.
