I'm sorry to have to provide negative feedback on this member, lightningblade, in my first review post. Here's my experience:
After exchanging PMs for a couple of days, I agreed to purchase the rapier advertised here: sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/44011/sale-darkwood-armoury-ring-rapier. I agreed to pay $365 for the rapier and a pair of gloves, shipped. Late in the evening of that same day, Friday 4/24, I requested that shipping be expedited to arrive no later than the following Wednesday, as I was planning to leave town. Early on Saturday he responded, "Well I ship today express but send an extra 10.00 to cover." I agreed, and less than 90 minutes later had paid the $375 via PayPal, and emailed him to let him know. I also requested that he send a tracking number when the rapier was shipped, but did not receive a response. On Monday 4/27, I emailed again, to renew the request for a tracking number. He eventually responded, "Tracking number ..(redacted).. Shipping was 42.00 dollars, best I could do. Wednesday would have cost 122.00. No way. Sorry."
Recognizing that this person may have made an offer to expedite, but then found the price to high, I have simply asked for the additional $10 I paid to be refunded. He has not replied to two emails, sent on 4/27 and two days ago. But what's really frustrating about this experience is that, if he'd actually shipped the package on Saturday, as he agreed, it would have arrived by Wednesday without needing to be expedited. I know this because I checked UPS that Saturday evening. So I really feel like that $10 should be returned.
Other aspects of the transaction were less than satisfactory to me as well, but the above is what motivated me to post. I will happily revise or update this thread should the seller make good on that overcharged amount, or even if he just gets in touch to discuss the situation. Apologies in advance, of course, if any serious life event on his end is responsible for the situation.
