I was looking for that classic video of an online market selling knives and the MC slapped a cheap katana on a table breaking the sword and injuring himself when I came across this. I think all here should watch, or attempt to, to remind ourselves that our passion can be dangerous and swords should be treated with respect. As the saying goes, “familiarity breeds contempt”. Some of the subjects in the video are irresponsible, some stupid, and others just ignorant. There are also legitimist blade failures, not to be confused with those playing inappropriately with wall hangers. It is GRAPHIC.

Natural selection in progress, although that last one is blatantly fake and in awful taste.

Proves that if you buy junk you get junk and that there is no shortage of idiots in the world.

I found myself trying to guess at which point things would go wrong in these videos. Sword twirling is usually a good indication that someone is about to maim themselves but that tatami mat break must have been improper heat treating. Lazy tempering could have killed someone.

Very true, the Japanese in the video insult the young man of being clumsy or what not, despite the fact that in all fairness his cut was not all that bad at all... It was a sword fail not a user fail, especially since he cut 2/3 up the sword, which is the "COP" or so to speak.

Disagree, he was clumsy, firstly you do not attempt one handed cuts unless you are well trained in using the blade with two hands. Secondly, It's easy to blame bad tempering when bad form can break a blade, especially during one handed cuts, he most likely turned the blade on that last cut which is why he knocked the stand over. I feel very sorry for the blades owner....

In addition, i still chuckle at the QVC one, no matter how many times I see it. I always thought it'd be funnier if they lowered the price while the host is still on the floor whining...
