I'm one of those guys who counts bullets while watching tv, notices the minor nuances in commercials. I have a nasty habit of rewinding to see if I actually saw some minor mistake by commercial tv productions. Now I know the name History Channel is a oxymoron but still how can they make some of the more obvious mistakes ? Is the catering truck that good ?
I was watching (barely) one of the WW1 shows in a marathon today and did you know Adolf Hitler shaved his handlebar mustache after a gas attack. It seems his gas mask wouldn't seal so after the gas dissipated, he whips out his trusty (Skyes Farbairn Commando knife ) and shaves off most of his mustache.
Apparently Adolf Hitler invented the Sykes Fairbairn 30 years before the Brits were credited with it.
I guess it's true that history is written by the winners.

I love the history channel but no,they are far from perfect. And when they show reenactments of events they don't always get the equipment or weapons of the period quite right.it might not always be mistakes though, could be at time of production they did not have a period specific knife and had to roll with what they had

The props department messed up on that one, they should have figured that Sykes and Fairbairn created the Sykes Fairbairn dagger, and they were on the Allied side!
