Found and old rusted up axe in grandpas wood shed and decided to try my hand at making a Viking axe. always wanted to make one but never could because i dont have the tool required to make the eye, so this was a godsend. First pic is what i started out with, second 2 is where im at now. Heat treat will be next. Axe head weighs in at 15.4 ounces Cutting edge is 4" End ot end it is 6" long End of eye to edge is 3.5"

Probably a 1 handed haft, maybe 18 or 21 inch

It was already hardened, but my work heated it up super duper hot. Its going to have to be heat treated again

Dwarven Magic it took me about 2 hours to reach the point im at now. I used an angle grinder and just started cutting random chunks out here and there until it was close, then switched to a 60 grit wheel and started smoothing everything out.

You really need to build yourself a proper forge. You can make one out of a Freon tank without a cutting touch or welder, just need a drill and hole saw.
Anyways good work reshaping the axe head.
