If you are like me, you sometimes start watching a TV show and get hooked on it even though it is not very good.
The show at the top of my list is Bitten. Bad writing and mediocre acting.
Others: British show Atlantis Constantine iZombie

Z Nation is goofy but is meant to be almost a comedy.

Is there really a show called I Zombie ? Boy I don't miss not having television reception at all. Why would people watch shows that are not good ? I catch Vikings on their website.

I don't watch television, per se, but I do keep up with current anime fansubs. Generally speaking, I find everything on television absolutely dreadful. Haven't enjoyed watching network television in more than a decade. My favorite channels used to be Discovery, History, and TLC...but uh...well, not so much now. As for shows I watch despite how bad they are, honestly, if a show is bad enough I simply don't watch it. Watching a show gives it ratings, ratings that make network execs thing the show is good, which means 1) more of that show 2) more shows just like it. No wonder TV keeps getting worse. There are a few anime, as this is all I watch, that are just mediocre enough to keep me following an entire season, even if I'm not sure what the actual aim is. As the Winter season has just ended and Spring is barely started yet, there's really nothing I can give as an example, and even if I did none of you would know what I was talking about. Usually when my family is watching something, and they complain about how bad it is, I'll ask them, "Why are you watching it if it's so stupid/bad?" and their response is almost always "I'm bored" and/or "there's nothing else on." My argument goes along the lines of "Then why not do something other than watch garbage television? You know that only helps the ratings and spurs more garbage." Best I've gotten is, to paraphrase, "Well, yeah, but watching other people be stupid makes me feel normal." Uuuhhh...okay? From time to time, in the break room at work, somebody will be watching some daytime soap or some kind of criminal investigation wannabe show and I'll puzzle over the dreadful acting and poor scene compositions, then remember I watch cartoons in a foreign language that often feature blatant pandering to an audience believed to hold very dirty thoughts toward the character/s on screen, and suddenly I feel like a hypocrite.

I'm ashamed to say that I still watch Survivor at least part way into the season until it gets so repulsive that I stop watching. I'm at that point right now.
I don't know why I watch Downton Abbey. That's a disappointing show - contrived plots, mostly uninteresting characters.
Penny Dreadful on Showtime - kind of a mixed bag, but I love watching Eva Green acting strange.
Good shows that I watch - The Walking Dead - love it. Game of Thrones. Outlander. Sons of Anarchy. I highly recommend Wolf Hall, now playing on PBS Masterpiece Theatre - an interesting take on Thomas Cromwell, Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. 100 times better than The Tudors

I don't watch TV unless I get stuck watching it with the wife Bones used to be cute but it's been horrible that last couple of years The Following was good the first season and has gone down hill Elementary was ok in the beginning, then went bad, and now it's ok
I miss House. That was my latest favorite TV series. Ink Master and Deadliest Catch are really good (IMHO).
I would be into Walking Dead if they could play it a 1.5x speed. Keep in mind that I watch YouTube vids at 2x speed because I'm impatient.

Well, I used to watch Spartacus even though it's really not that great... same goes for Revolution. I have to admit I'm slowly getting fed up with TWD, too and Zombies in general. Oh well... totally thrilled with Justified right now though. And obviously GoT.

I don't usually watch bad television, tho I did suffer through "Spartacus" (mostly playing in the background while doing other things). I do watch "Survivor" and that can be bad but it also has moments sublime.
I'll give up on a show quick if it doesn't get good quick. There is just too much good tv and my viewing time is limited. Then again what is "good" is dependent on the individual, my wife (a woman with demonstrable good sense) loves "Dog, the bounty hunter". Go figure...
It's also true that shows tend to peter out over time and some should have ended earlier than they did and I guess I'm as guilty as anyone of not switching horses in a timely fashion.
Talon is also correct that really good tv ends too soon, I suspect because it costs a lot more to do really good tv. "Rome" anyone?

But the one that broke my heart was "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles". I've never forgiven Fox for cancelling that show. And of course "Firefly"...

I watch Grim as well. It has turned into a soap opera of sorts. Don't think I am part of the target audience....

Cops, Bar Rescue, and if I can ever catch it when it comes on, Big Giant Swords (iirc). Those are all the greatest time wasting tv shows I've seen. I also like Hacking The System. Supernatural is one of those shows that is too good to not watch on DVD, at least till the "Leviathans" came into the picture and ruined demonology for me.

Supernatural - have been watching that one since it started. I did like the individual episodes where they were hunting. The Angel and Demon End of Times plot was decent. It is so-so now and it seems that network moves shows around and has large gaps in airing episodes.
One thing I have been doing the last few weeks is going back and watching Gunsmoke episodes online. Am on season 2 now.
