Hey everyone, this'll be my first post. I was wondering if I could ask some of you to double check something with me to make sure I'm looking at the right things. So I understand that this forum is dedicated to sub$300 swords, but I was wandering around Hanwei's stuff and I found this: www.hanweishop.com/proddetail.php?prod=SH2074Seems nice and all, $1359.99 is rough but it doesn't detract from the beauty. However, the next part is what confuses me... Today, I found this: www.swordsofhonor.com/sh2074.htmlCorrect me if I'm wrong or if someone has logged this before, but is this the same sword? I see the length, weight stats are different, but the registration number matches and the unofficial site mirrors the last half of the sword description. Furthermore, does the 2nd site really say it's selling for $171.75??? Well, I would normally discount Swords of Honor as a fake, but its been recommended by the Sword Buyers website so I'd like to ask you all if I'm missing something here.

Looks like the same one to me, I wouldn't recoment it unless you are only after a display piece. Hanwei has stted that their Chibese swords are not suited for cutting prcatice. If you are after sopmething functional Scott Rodel is working with Hanwei do deveop two cutting Jian and Dao wich should be on the marked shortly, their is alwasy Garret I am shure he would be able to hook you up with something.
I have seen some differences in prices between dealers but wow $1359.88 to $171.75 is huge maybe it is a factory second or something like that. To bad you cant cut with it beacuse it is such a beautiful looking sword.

That is a beautiful sword. There's obviously something amiss here because thats a pretty big difference in prices there. Maybe try contacting SoH and ask them if it is a factory second like musashi said. If you do end up purchasing this please post a review for us.

I think it's an error on SoH's part. I'd contact them and ask for clarification.
Personally, for $1,000+ I believe you can do much better than that though.

Dear All, I emailed SOH an inquiry about the SUPER OFFER on the Hanwei Song Sword - No news from SOH. Then I put up an online purchase to SOH for the item, sensing it maybe too good an offer to miss.... - Still No response from SOH. Sensing something not right as the status of my order remains not updated after a few days, I wrote in another inquiry, this time quoting the Order Number. This time they responded that it's a typo error & the rightful price should read '$1199.25'. So I ask to have my order canceled - and again NO RESPONSE from SOH *sigh*

They should cut the price in half just for you, for going through all the trouble and finding errors on their site.
Think about it when 100 people purchased and SoH have to charge them with $1199 instead of $171, then all those canceled orders ;D
And how on Earth would they make a typo from 171 to 1199?
At least $119 make more sense than $171
;D I'm just bored, don't take me seriously please Thank you ;D

I can't really claim credit for that as it was 'Vasuva' who first informed the Forum of the pricing typo error Having said that, I was indeed a little disappointed of the fact that they only corrected me after my persistent inquiry & yet did not hold true to their advertised pricing - be it genuine mistakes or gimmicks Hmm...
