So, I got this katana a while back labeled as being laminated... do you all see any lamination lines, 'cause I certainly don't. It does have a tight "hada" for a Chinese katana, but if there are any lamination lines, I fail to see them. Sorry about the pic quality, my camera didn't want to cooperate. This one's from Zhejiang Zhengs Sword (Zheng Shi sword) btw.

It's almost impossible for us to see lamination lines in a photo better than you with the sword in hand. But the lamination lines will always be there even if very, very faintly. I'm speaking of folded mono-steel, damascus (mixed steel), or sanmai and others.
If you wish you can enhance the lamination line(s) by etching with a mild acid.

I was thinking of doing a vinegar etch, but I'll have to wait and see. When I do, I'll post updated (and hopefully better) pictures, before/after.

The picture is too dark for me to see lamination lines. And also they are correct when they say that you are able to see them much better than we could in a photo even a super-high quality photo. However, I can see a little of the hada and from what I see it does look nice and tight. That is usually the big flaw I find with folded production katana is that gaudy swirly ugly hada they have. However the one in the OP looks good from what I can see. Usually Kaneie puts out a nice hada as well.

Sometimes hardly distinguishable and very close to the edge. Or non existent if false ad. Not impossible but I'd be surprised.
