You dogs! I just woke up and this is what I find eh? Making fun of me. G.G. Godwin got my straight from the shelves order. Wulflund agreed to take my custom order. Nothing fancy, just some longer blades. Both have communication problems. Think bad weather, homing pidgeons and little, wet, pieces of paper. Why do I have to think about ,,Black Adder goes forth'' now?

Got mail from Krak at Wulflund today. The swords are on the way and should arrive Thursday or Friday next! I promised to do a review and to let him know when it is out. Also stated that I will do the review without the whole sorry affair clouding my judgement. I see the saga as a one of. If this was the regular experience of Wulflund buyers there would not have been any Wulflund left a long time ago. So, I keep my fingers crossed.
Send G.G. Godwin an email that I want my money back. Communication is almost non existant, I do not know what is going on, other than that there were problems with blades. This was about a month ago. I am sure the Godwin people are very nice, but I just do not want to wait any longer. So I hope they will return my $$. Something like 8 months waiting for off the shelve stuff is simply too much.

Well this is disappointing, I was looking at that exact Schiavona from Wulflund and thinking of saving up for it. I guess I'll stick with www.outfit4events.com for my czech blade needs as I never had issues when I ordered from them. They are a bit more sometimes but they ship fast when they say they will.

What can I say. Wulflund assures me this Saga is a one off. They want to build up a presence here at the forum too. Krak is a member of a renaissanse re enactment group and visits my country each year at the Grolle festival. They are quite keen to make a name and a good one at that. I hope they succeed. They send me a link to a YouTube cutting video. Looks like they go Cold Steel here but with more gory detail:
And here is one from Schola Gladiatoria sporting their axe:
and another video of a Viking seax:
So, at least they are busy, though it must be said that waiting for 6 weeks for an axe, like in the case of Schola Gladiatoria, is a bit long too, like the man says in the video. It appears Wulflund are the vendors for a smith or smiths under the name of Arma Epona, also from the Czech Republik. The waiting time in the case of Shola Gladiatoria might suggest a smallish outfit overwhelmed by orders. So part of my problems might have started there.

If they are forging it themselves, six to eight weeks is okay. What worries me is your post which started in the beginning of this year and still you haven't received your shipment. While we are on topic, six to eight weeks is what Fabri Armorum quoted me the time for them to make me a sharp Hungarian Hussar saber to my specs. I'm ok with a two month wait for a custom weapon as long as it gets delivered to me within that time frame or a week or two after. I don't want the wrong ordered shipped to me and then have to send it back like a wild goose chase.

I'm really torn here, should I save up for the Del Tin Schaivona or pay less and wait for the Wulflund's backsword version? Do tell, I am curious but is the grip as exaggerated in person as it looks in your opening post? I was thinking about their Schaivona you got or their Swedish calvary backsword.

I am working on the review right now. Give me an hour - 2 hours tops to get it up. About the grips: They are 11.2 cm long, from bottom of the basket to the underside of the pommel.
edit: Yah, right. Two hours eh? Took the whole frigging day! Blast. And I have this scabbard to polish. Darn reviews.
