I understand you guys. ;) Alojz (the guy who made that huge twohander for me) is at about 10 minutes drive from me. :) The funny part is that for a long time I had no idea that he exists.

Loves me some 1822 light. I suppose deep in my dandy heart, I'm predisposed towards something with 30-33" of blade more than a true cavalry blade, but the 36" 1822 light canvalry saber is just so very right that it doesn't matter. Mine's a nothing special trooper's model but I got it for a song and a smile, and I'm completely sold on it. Dave Kelly steered me the right way. It really is all that and a small pouch of pistachios.

I got it! Pictures tomorrow. The saber is exceptional. I have never handled 1822 before and I'm blown away. It's just how I like them, long, light overall weight, but PoB just far out enough to be a good cutter. The handle is slightly loose, I will take it to Alojz to repeen it. The edge seems to have been sharpened for service but used quite a bit and dulled from use. A few nicks too around the CoP.
