So, I came across a company by the name of Grommets Cultery in CA (http://www.grommetscutlery.com/). Their website is not the best, but they may have some old hanwei's and windlass swords which they are looking to clear out. Their website is a bit weak, so its best to contact the store via phone or e-mail directly ( Elrikk and I have had good results via direct communications). The complete saga of how we found them can be found in the following thread. Also be warned that this thread also contains epic levels of SBG community spirit, so huzah. sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/post/609900/threadBasically, we went looking for a Rheinfelden. I found one in their warehouse. It was rusty from age, but managed to get it for cheap. The representative that I talked to also said that they had other similar leftover stock which they are looking to sell off, so could be promising.

Grommets Cutlery, looks to be a brick and mortar store in Southern CA. To bad it wasn't close to me.

You know what's weird? Their site isn't working for me anymore. I was on it earlier but can't get back on. I saw the Hanwei antiquated backsword but the wanted over $400 for it. I never like the Saxon hilt, Had two friends that one. One friend's was to flexible(whippy) my other friend was just right and someone from MyArmoury, said it was too stiff.
Maybe Dave, or someone else has a pic to show you?

Was more for everyone's benefit rather than mine. We managed to talk them down on price, maybe you can too - especially if its something that is hard to find. Seem to be very flexible, especially when clearing out old stock. We talked them down on the Rheinfelden from 300 to 150

Update: They have shipped the sword (they shipped it yesterday actually, two days after receiving payment, and exactly when they said they would). Things seem to be going okay for them

I thought the sidesword blade was out of place, but there is this exact sword in the French Army Museum (L'Invalides ). Southern Swords (UK) still sells these.

So, I picked up the Rhienfelden from them. Prior to buying the sword, they sent me pictures showing rust spots and other bits of wear from prolonged storage. Due to this, they sold it to me for $165 USD (Thanks to Elrikk for talking them down). The sword did come with rust, but does not look nearly as bad as it does in the pictures - Its not showroom quality, but definitely something I could remove with some elbow grease. Doesn't look very deep, nor is there any pitting. As such, would conclude that these are reliable people - very open and honest about their product. My communication with them was very pleasant and they were always upfront and frank about what they were doing. Very nice. One minor niggle I have is that they listed the full retail price ($284) on the customs declaration form, rather than what I actually paid ($165). As such, I was charged a bit more for customs than I should have been. Its not a huge deal for me (an extra $20 cdn, or about $15 USD). However, for those living in areas with more stringent customs fees, you may want to pay attention and remind them to list the correct (as paid) amount. overall, I would keep an eye out to see what other old OOP swords they have lying around, and don't hesitate to contact them if you see something you want. The listed prices are a bit steep, but they seem very reasonable and willing to deal, especially with regards to leftover stock items.

Im glad it worked out, I'd love to see pics when it's in shape. Did they sharpen it?

I will post a more in-depth review-thing later on. However, here are some of the pictures of the "rust". Not that bad. I am thinking of keeping it as is - makes it look more authentic. EDIT: post here sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/post/612134/thread
