So, I noticed recently that KoA has some new (to me) munitions grade swords available - Universal Swords 5-ball spadroon - Universal Swords 1853p British Sword - Universal Swords 1822p pipe-back British Sword I know that they all have the usual Universal Swords flaws, but at this price point, they are also very tempting. Especially the 1853. Someone please talk me out of it! Also, on the topic of their Munitions Grade swords, I have the munitions grade version of their Russian Dragoon Sword. Dave Kelly also sent me a Munitions Grade version of their Napoleonic dragoon sabre (and its a huge crowbar of a sword!) The swords themselves have their own charms and disadvantages, but the munitions grade status itself does not detract much. They do have some slight waviness to it, but its really not that noticeable and does not effect the aesthetics of the sword If anyone is considering these swords and does NOT do test cutting , I would say make your decision based on the merits and disadvantages of the standard sword itself - don't let the Munitions Grade designation get in the way. I don't believe that it will have any noticeable effect on the overall appearance or dry handling behavior of the sword.

The 1853 is almost exactly the right weight. Of course, it's too thin at the base and too thick near the tip. If you were to thin the blade past the termination of the fuller, it might become a nice sword. Or at least OK.
