looks like some nice weapons coming in from dorn, only complaint is hotas' axe looks all kinds of wrong, based on the "ash and iron wife" described in the book, this is almost a variform of a guan dao to me but rest of em look pretty sweet

They all look too fantasy to my eye. Especially after four seasons of many solidly designed practical weapons. Thanks for posting the video, I am a fan of both the books and the show

So heavily ornamental weapons seems a bit fitting for them.

I've never been impressed with the weapons on GOT. These don't really change that. I like the show tho it's a bit slow.

They are fast overtaking the source material. I have to assume that at the end of this coming season they will have exhausted it, as Martin seems to be in no rush to publish further chapters in the series. I was more happy to see some of the new actors than the weapons.

I have to assume that at the end of this coming season they will have exhausted it, as Martin seems to be in no rush to publish further chapters in the series. I was more happy to see some of the new actors than the weapons. As I understand what is happening with the show, GRRM gave the two guys running the show the complete story arcs for the main characters. So starting this coming season, the changes will be more noticeable because the producers know how the story is supposed to end according to what they have been told by the author. This should allow them to trim off more fat in the way of characters, storyline and events. I am looking forward to their interpretation because I enjoy both the books and the show as separate though related works. I still think that the Dornish weapons are too fantastical. The book description of Oberyn's spear has no snakes in it. Tyrion would have noticed snakes and probably have something snide to say about it.:) Basically, 8 feet of turned ash, and a 2 foot long narrow leaf shaped spear head that ended in a spike point. I imagine a spear like this without the lugs. Man that's hot! I want one. :) I guess they have to up the ante every season though, people would get tired of seeing the same stuff each year.
