The "tang" he used was the forward portion of the broken blade. I believe he did reshape it into a nakago-like...uh...thing, or had started to at one point, but drilling/punching a hole in hardened steel is no easy trick; nor would be annealing just the new nakago, so I'd suppose pegging it would be difficult, unless one of our resident smiths and/or metalworkers would like to chime in?

That is exactly what happened. Though I did make small cut-outs in the nakago so the glue could creep in and hold on the handle better.

lets try not to hijack masters thread the tanto is really awsome I'm tempted to ask for a price on some thing simalar Well you're probably out of luck, something similar would require Master to break another blade. .........wait a minute.

That's pretty neat! If you were a bladesmith, you could probably make a pretty nice sen out if it.
Cool!

Nice work on the tanto. Was it just straight file work for you?
Wow, actually that second blade looks like something a Japanese Sweeney Todd might swing.

Nice work on the tanto. Was it just straight file work for you? Sure, all the way! Well, maybe the dremel helped a little bit...
