How did you manage to convert it into a tanto? Looks kinda nice excluding the tsuka and the fact that it was glued on. And what happened to the rest of the shura?

MASTER!!! WELCOME BACK also not bad on the tanto but maybe some ito from the shura also? Only about two feet of the "Shura" ito survived, many parts of it had gotten glued and is now crusted and hard.

Nice Master,
Very nice. You have just made lemonade from lemons.
Good to have you back, stay awhile this time. A thick skin is a must for anyone who spends time on a posting forum like this.
See ya around, and have a K as a welcome back gift.

Looks like it came out nicely. No shame in gluing or lack of ito, it's your knife, make it how you want; as long as you keep an eye on assembly and don't do anything we wouldn't do. Still cuts like a champ, I see. What were the new dimensions?

What were the new dimensions? 9 inch blade, 4 inch handle, 15 overall, balances at the habaki.

What were the new dimensions? 9 inch blade, 4 inch handle, 15 overall, balances at the habaki. Sounds good to me. As to drinks, I'll take the stoutest draught you've got. Tall and black, please. If it can't hold a straw I don't want it.

Don't be embarrassed about glue, even the big boys use it. Gen2, Hanwei, and several others are quite liberal with their adhesives. Just keep looking it over for any signs of loosening, and be sure that if it ever starts to rattle, ADD MORE GLUE. Or see if you can find a drill press and pin it, be it bamboo mekugi or brass bolsters or whatever. Make sure it doesn't budge. I can type, I swear. Stupid cell phone keypad's tiny buttons and my stupid big thumbs.

You're forgetting cheness, randomnobody. They use adhesives too!
But yes, it is a nice tanto. Hmm...did the tang you used still have holes? You could have used bamboo pins...right?
