Has anyone given Cold Steel’s 1917 Hybrid Cutlass a go? I understand that their 1917 Cutlass felt somewhat dead. The Hybrid has more distal taper to it. Not all that much taper, but more.

Thanks guys. I am getting the itch for a cutlass and understand that Windlass’ 1860 handles well. I came across the Hybrid last night and the fact that it is not a copy does not bother me. As far as copies go CS 1917 Cutlass only had the barest resemblance the original, if in fact the photo I saw was indeed of the original.

Also keep in mind that a cutlass wasn't necessarily a weapon with a lot of refinement - so blade bias and lack of distal taper may not be an issue
