Don't know if this is considered politics or not but New York is trying to pass a law against owning a machete. This is important because they can easily lump swords in with it. If New York gets away with it other states will follow.

I saw that a while back. I don't dabble much in to sword politics, but this just seems silly to me. I mean... I could see that nobody that lives in NYC is going to need to be cutting down vines that have overtaken their yard, and won't be needed, but what about the weekend camper? The guy that is just a machete collector?

I only own one machete but like I said, I know they will throw swords in with that too. Give them a foot and they'll take the whole leg.

Contact your representative and tell him you oppose this.

Sure just like we all opposed the NYS SafeAct which is taking our 2nd Amendment rights away from us. Unless it's an election year they don't care what we think. The law makers live in the big cities so they don't understand that a machete is a brush cutting tool to them it's a weapon. They don't see it being used to clear brush they see it being used to behead people in the Middle East. Like I said I only own one machete so it's not a major loss but this will spread into swords as well. If they're afraid of a two foot machete wait till they see a five foot Scottish Claymore. They already started passing the sword grabbing laws in Europe, we're next if we're not careful.
