Anyone have experience with this Empire Costume offering? I love the blued and gilded effect, and if it handles decently, I'll put it on the list of sabres to buy. Lord do I have the sabre bug something awful!

As always, to the Kelly! I believe he wrote a piece about it recently (infact, I think he has the older, non-blued version listed for sale, as it has been displaced in his collection by the newer blue one)

I have the Sabre for officier subalterne de chasseur a cheval de la garde, blued. Some other offerings from Mr. Guinhut too. All with the Czech blades. All blades are much better than Universal - Weapon Edge and for the money you get the best on the market. The Vendemaire is almost an par with the original according to Pinotte. I have the non blued version ( which I may be selling ) and that one, like the others handles very well. Only if one has access to the real thing, one could tell the difference. I say: Go West young man!
Now I did it again: liking instead of pressing the edit button! What I wanted to say: Pinotte has some reviews of Empire blades in the old review section. Also, in the E. C. Military Antics section there is a quite nice M1821 and 2 M1845's. Bummer as always will be the shipping to the US, but combined shipping could lead to a good deal.

Forum member DeepBlueDave has that sword, you could ask him. I'll see if I can find his post but check on his collection section or the new acquisitions one.
