Hello guys, as i posted in the new acquisitions thread a while back, i recently came into possession of an Angus Trim single handed sword that was in desperate need of some TLC. the guard was kind of bent up and covered in rust, the pommel was covered in rust, the grip leather was torn, and the blade was quite scratched up with surface rust as well, the blade itself was also incredibly dull. i could drag it across my skin safely, which i did multiple times. Not an overly attractive sword at all. But I could see the sword not for what it was...but what it could be if given the attention it deserved. a Diamond in the rough. SO i went to work on it. I started out with 120 grit Wet or Dry Emery Paper and scrubbed down the blade until all the scratches and surface rust was gone, then i continued on and polished the blade up to a nice smooth even satin finish. Then i took the blade to my 1X30 belt sander and sharpened the edge up to my standard level. After doing a test cut last night i was able to pull 3 silents off one bottle. Pretty amazing for me. Next i will be addressing the hilt issue and making a new guard and pommel, Keeping to the same weight as the originals to preserve the handling that Gus gave the sword....stay tuned. First, heres a closeup of the blade in the condition it was in, so you can get a feel for what i was working with. Anddddd after i was done....

You should take similar pictures of the same spot so we could have a bit more better comparison. You have two blurry close ups of the before, and two crystal clear shots further out from the blade and one close up in a different spot.
