Howdy folks, The trailmaster is my favorite bowie (that I've handled, at least) and it's one of those iconic knives that I've wanted since I was a kid. Well, it also just so happens that O1 is my favorite knife steel, so last year when I heard that Cold Steel was doing O1 trailmasters, it was a no brainer. The knife has been exceptional - VERY tough and good edge, though I did convex mine - I've never run into a factory flat grind with a good secondary bevel. Anyway, I hate rubber handles - hot spots and bad shape. I rehandled it last year but wound up taking too much wood off, so I decided to redo it. Material is oak with a copper pin. I've very pleased with this incarnation! Comments welcome Pete
