Just thought I'd take a photo of what I see when I wake up every morning. Sometimes the layout changes, but the theme stays the same :-)

Nice bow and spear, going hunting? :)
What type of bow is that? You know you're going to have to tell us about it now that you've shown us the pictures! I wake up to a really nice recurve bow hanging off my wall lol

Nice collection, great kit for the outdoors! I too have the Windlass hewing spear on a rack (along with a few others!), and my recurve bow is a Martin Archery Mamba 58", 50#@28", have the same 'string whisker' silencers on my bowstring too.

The mamba is a sweet little bow,I once had a hunter which is just a longer version. Actually I've had quite a few martin/Damon howatt bows over the years and they're all great ! I make the string silencers myself out of yarn :-)

I make the string silencers myself out of yarn :-) I bought the mamba off another traditional archer years back, it was in excellent condition, got it quite cheap, he wanted to sell it to get a new longbow. He threw in half a dozen hand-made wooden arrows which look amazing, I kept aside and shoot aluminium shafts instead. From your picture it looks like you're not using wood from the clear fluoro nocks, what are your arrows made of?
BTW - Cool tip, thanks, I'll have to try making yarn string silencers when the rubber ones I have on my strings self destruct!

I shoot gold tip carbons in 5575 spine with a 100 gn insert and 125-145 gn point gives me a total of around 600 gn . I like to use the traditional pattern ones the most but they can be pricey. I foot the point end with a 2" sleeve of 2219 alloy shaft, and the nock end with about 10mm of the same. I used to shoot woods and alloys but I get much better lifespan, arrow flight and penetration out of the carbons. Plus, after 20 years,my family has started buying them for me for my birthday,so I haven't paid for arrows for 2-3 years now :-)
