There is a swords listed on Ebay. It is listed as an Albion Creacy. But it does not appear to be any Albion that I am familiar with. Now mind you I am not all that experienced but, this sword has an unfamiliar makers mark just below the cross. And it most definatly has a different blade and fittings on it compared to any of the photos I have seen of Albion's Creacy. Now I am completely unfamiliar with the early Albion's but this particular sword does not look any were near as nice as any of the Albion's I own, now 3 at this time. I will add one caveat, the listing does say that they think its a crecy so they may just not know as opposed to flat out lying. But I curious if anyone recognizes what it is.Any one with thoughts, ideas or knowledge.

If it's the one I found, a Crecy it is not unless they had a significantly different model bearing the same name in the past, which I doubt; the blade profile, blade-fuller ratio, pommel and cross are all different. I'm not disputing it being an Albion; it may be, but it looks quite different from the Crecy to me. They do state blatantly it's an Albion; it would be nice if they had something to demonstrate that, since I assume they didn't buy it from Albion or else they would probably know the model. I'm unfamiliar with an Albion that looks like that, but that does not, of course, negate it as a possibility.
I noticed that mark also; possibly a B or β.

If it's the one I recently saw, it looks like a Gen 1 Crecy, which has a different blade typology (XVIIa?) than the current Crecy's type XVIa. I might be completely off the mark, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Here is a photo of the Albion 1st Generation Crecy Grete Sword. It looks like the one on EBAY. If my memory is correct, the !st Gen swords were designed by Randal Graham. They were decent swords, but not in the same league as the Next Gens, designed by Peter Johnsson. I wouldn't pay $700.00 for it. I think that photo was taken by Nathan Robinson

My mistake! Seems strange to me that it would change so much and keep the same name.

yup, definitely looks like the first gen crecy sword to me. www.myarmoury.com/swor_alb_crec.phpI think it retailed at somewhere around $600 back in the day right? That would be around $750 today after inflation. It's not a bad deal, and it comes with a scabbard too. I'd personally rather save up a little more scratch and get the next gen

X2 on the next gen Crecy. An all around great sword for the money if your looking for this style sword. I'm not a fan of the first gen.

I had my eye on that when I saw it on Ebay with the green scabbard but it just didn't appeal to me like the photos on KOA and Albion's site, now I know.
Much obliged gentlemen.

When this sword was listed on ebay for the first time the price was $800. I sent a message to the seller and told him I think it is the First Gen Crecy. The sword didn't sell and then he relisted it with the price of $700. If it doesn't sell he might lower the price again or at least accept a bit lower offer...

I thought the same thing...a bit overpriced at 800. Still would not pay 700 either but that's just me.

Thanks for everyone's responses. Since I too was positive that it was not a Next Gen. Albion. And being unfamiliar with the older Albion's I did not recognize it. The mark appears to me to be a small sword surrounded by a wavy cloud shaped line. If that makes sense. But at this point I do agree that at that price I would much rather order a new next gen Crecy. But it will be interesting to watch and see if it sells or gets relisted again at a lower price.

It's a Albion Cresy Grete Swerde Mark II. I picked one up when Albion was closing them out for $500. It was my first Albion. It's the one on the top left of the picture.
