After a year of hard training, I had noticed that the black paint on the fuchi and kashira of my iaito has been coming off. It now looks mostly like copper.
Is there any way to repaint the lost coloring easily? What paint would you even use? Does all paint come off eventually with training?
I do also need to worry about the gold sakura petals as well so it might be a bit of a challenge.

You can try using something like Rust-Oleum spray paint. Make sure the pieces are completely clean of oil or dirt before you apply any coloring. Scuff the surface if possible, use a metal primer and then a couple of coats of color. You can use gold leaf paint to touch up the accents and then coat the whole piece with a top coat of clear.
If the pieces are copper, you might be able to use an art patina product to blacken them instead of paint.

Thanks for the information.
What brush/method would you use to do the accents?

I would just use a very small brush, like one you'd use for painting miniatures, and carefully go over the details. If you feel like your hand won't be steady enough, you could tape off the surrounding areas with a non-peeling painter's tape or use artist's mask.
