Wait - you mean you can't cut a tree with a sword?
I once saw in a movie a katana cut down a concrete lamp.
But katanas are folded 100,000 times and then quenched in blood, that's why they have a groove.
Also the samurias were killing ninjas with katanas, and they were cool (the ninjas, not samuria!)
Pheew, that's just some fake movie up there mate.

But in the add were I bought the sword it clearly said "can cut tree"

So sword abuse on inappropriate targets is universal, they even do it in Westeros!
Even his mother knows a tree is not a proper target!!!
You can't blame him though, plastic water bottles and milk jugs won't be invented for a few centuries yet...
