Does anyone want to have a largest dog contest. I'll come up with some kind of knife to give away, plus you will have bragging rights if you can beat my dog. The dogs will have to be weighted by a Vet. Time to get my in to get his shots anyways.

I had the perfect joke, but it's not really "Friendliest Sword Forum" appropriate. Lol

I'd love to be in on either, but my family's dog is a lousy little German Shepherd/Black Lab mix. I think he weighed 60 pounds at the last check up? Wimpy little dog by my standards, but the neighbors have Bassets, and at least he's not a Yorkie...

Sounds like fun. Do you think I have a chance to win with my wife's 10 lb Miniature Italian Greyhound? Probably not :) Her name is Lillie and she likes to watch me grind knives.

This is Frodo. Last March 31 dogs were taken out of a home in Pike county. Their owner had been hospitalized and no one had been feeding or caring for them. They were starved and fighting amongst themselves. There had been 33. Frodo was the last one to be adopted from the local humane society. We brought him home last October. Frodo weighed 36 pounds when they found him. He weighs 51 pounds now. I weighed him myself last week.

The largest I owned (before having her put down) was - PYRENEAN MOUNTAIN DOG - 40kgs or about 90lbs of fickle, bull headed, stubborn, loyal, protective, lazy, lady. (RIP)

My soon to be 6-year-old lab, Trixie. She was weighed at the vet's yesterday in fact; she went in for a bath and her annual heartworm test. She weighed in at 89.3 lbs.

My mom has two Great Pyrenees (Pyrenean Mountain dog)........the female is 90 lbs and the male is 125. They patrol her farm watching over her other dogs, horses, ponies, mules, water fowl, land fowl, deer, and goats. Great temperament. A neighbors pit use to come over and try to fight but the Pyrenees would ignore it until the female had enough......she would finally bark and her son would rush the pit knocking it to the ground then sit on it with a low growl you could feel in your guts 50 yards away. After several minutes he would let the pit up to run home until next time. Never bit.
My sister has several Mastiffs..... the females run 150 plus and the males 180 plus with one at 240. She is constantly working to keep their weight down to keep them healthy. Wonderful dogs if you don't mind the drool.
My wife and I currently share space with three dogs under 20 lbs each.......a white Bichon Frise, a Silver Poodle (17 years old), and a black Brussels Griffon/Poodle mix. We are a tight pack. When my kids visit we have a happy group of six dogs running around the house and yard, the largest a young 40 pound pit bull.

Heh. If only our sweetheart Irish Woulfhounds weren't ten years dead... Cleo weighed in at 76kg at her last show, IIRC. Maybe I could enter my Norwegian Forest cat?
