I have one but I only cut milk jug and soda can with it . The blade is light and need to be sharpen (I use Accursharp) .I think with good technique and proper instruction you can cut tatami mat with it but the blade might be too light for repeating cut . Check out Garrett post he will have really nice Da Doa out soon.

Ya, been waiting on that Garrett. Any ETA? Yeah. Sorry everyone...I'm a big liar. My prototype dao is MIA (lost during shipping) which really sucks considering it took 3 months to complete. Recovery of the prototype is doubtful, so I may have to add the dao in later. I think I will have to start up without it for now...more info. to come soon...

That sucks mate, bad luck. Or some shipping bloke nicked it cause it looked hot.
The hanwei dadao sucks the big one, I handled my mates and the balance was screwy, the fittings were somewhat horrible and the blade, well lets just say it wasn't very good.

Crickey! That's a first class downer. Sorry to hear that, bro. Well, if and when you get another chance to try again we'll all be looking forward to it.

Garrett Don't let this MIA Da Dao discourage you . I guess that give me more time to practice with the CS and Hanwei so hopefully by the time your Dao arrive I will be quite proficient with it.(I am a liar too, I have not practice with them for months
