Hi there,
As the year of the Rat is arriving on Feb. 7, I would like to say "Kung Hei Fat Choy" in Cantonese or "Gong Xi Fa Cai" in Putonghua to all of you.
I was born under this sign, and don't really know why rat is first in the cycle of Chinese horoscope. And what's yours?

I'm also a rat, though I tend to disagree. My actual personality tends to fall closer to either side of the rat as per the standard Chinese restaurant's placemat descriptions, but this site chinese.astrology.com/rat.aspx seems to describe me quite well. On the other hand, maybe half of this description www.rainfall.com/horoscop/rat.htm is accurate, the rest is way off. I'm assuming those phrases translate to "Happy (Chinese) New Year," in which case I return the sentiment. Otherwise, perhaps it'd be best if I knew what they meant before deciding if "same to you" is appropriate.

I am a rat, my wife is a monkey and the website says we are 77% compatible, which is waaaay wrong. We're closer to 98%, based on day to day life, which after almost 19 years, should be pretty accurate.

I'm a pig! Oink oink! That's also my Chinese Zodiac... So, last year was supposed to have been all kinds of auspicious for me monetarily and otherwise. So much for that. Still, it was a pretty good year, all in all - got a new car and a promotion, and began the planning of our wedding to be held in this, a rat year. I'll marry my girl, an ox. Let the barnyard fun commence! ;D
