Hello all,
Been away from sword collecting for a long time and I'm not really sure what's available out there anymore, so I'd appreciate any help you can give me. I am looking for a good functional dao that fits these criteria:
Blade shape: yanmao or liu ye Laminated steel blade with visible grain Royal blue scabbard and grip wrap, with bronze accents Either single- or double- handed is OK
I am willing to send a production piece off for further customization but a full custom is out of my price range. I hope it's not too vague a request, thanks for the help in advance.

Thanks for the link. I think you are right that Chinese swords in general and Dao in particular are not very popular with US collectors. Most of what I'm seeing out there are generic looking niu wei dao or sheet metal wushu swords.
Another way to approach the question is to find a laminated steel yanmao or liuye bare blade, which I can then send to a customizer for mounting. Anyone selling good quality bare dao blades out there?

Sinosword / jkoo could probably custom one up for you with whatever color & lamination you want for not much more than their stock price.
