So I'm currently in the process of polishing my VA Castile and I thought it would look nice with a blacken/blued fuller; however unhistorical it might be. I was wondering if anyone had experience bluing fullers and what would be the best technique to apply it?
I have a bottle of Birchwood Perma Blue laying around and I was thinking of applying coats to the fuller, while sanding the sides of the blade with 1000-1500-2000 grit to even it out.

I've never blued anything, but have thought about it - one suggestion: mask off the areas you don't want blued with painter's tape.

I used liquid gun blue with good results to darken a fuller. As mentioned masking tape off the rest of the blade is a good idea. After you have it applied, gray scotchbrite will remove any stray darkening.

After a few coats polish off with some 0000 steel wool and a little oil
