This exemplar of the Prussian Cavalry M1852 / 85 is blemish free. Never saw such a thing before. No rust, no pits, nothing, like new. The pipe back blade is large, stiff, beautifully balanced and with a nice helman. All marks are crisp, so no sanding is done the make it so blemish free. The mark to note is on the spine of the blade, close to the guard: 85 under W under Crown. This mark must be stamped on all Prussian sabres. The year mark, 85, varies of course. The basket is stamped from quite thick steel. Sturdy and roomy. Even the scabbard oozes quality. Again blemish free, with a mark on the drag. As to overall quality: this matches even the Swiss sabres. For those wishing to cut with an not too expensive oldie: this is it. It begs to be used and will outlast even the most fanatic cutters. Thanks for watching.

Big LIKE for that beauty you got there, mister! The markings RPC might be for Regt Pferd Colonne (Horse Depot Regiment) no 32, weapon no 56, but I can't decipher the one above that might be for Ammo column Foot Artillery regt no 3 (or 8), squadron 2, weapon no 88 (or 33?), I think.
Whatever the markings, that's one nice piece!

Very nice saber! Simple and serious loooking, but beautiful. And preservation is really surprising...

Thank you gents. The marks above are: 14 AF.3.II.23. The ones above that are really blotted out good, cannot read those.
