Greetings everyone,
I was surfing this forum for quite some time and have finally jumped in. Glad to find a FRIENDLY forum!
First off, I'm a girl. Just curious to know how many other GIRLS are into swords. :? Is it really a strictly masculine icon? Are ladies forbidden? Should I care? I'm the kind of lady who skin a guy's deer and then washes up and serves tea and cake.
My back-story: I went about purchasing a Chronicles of Narnia replica of Peter's sword Rhindon about a year ago. I found SBG and knew that I was going to have to settle for a stainless steel replica (SLO) instead of the Master Replica (for financial reasons) and made a bad eBay purchase. Bad because the girl was dishonest about the condition of her piece of junk (or just a ditz). The hilt was so poorly damaged that I felt too ashamed to turn around and resell it. So I left the piece of junk in my closet up until I determined....the only way I was going to afford a real sword was to sell a few things.
So in a matter of a few hours, whilst brooding at my work desk over how to afford this Kriegschwert from Valiant Armoury, I settled the matter, rushed off to Hobby Lobby and returned with a few items totaling $13.00.
This was my first attempt at customizing/fixing any SLO. It turned out so handsomely I think, I'd keep it if I didn't have a Kriegschwert on my Christmas list.
Thanks for the welcome in advance all you sword-wielding sages.
