Good luck, are you going to forge the bevels in on the swords. See you have a pretty nice drawing block now. Mount it well you will be able to do a lot with it.

I am not sure what direction i will be taking on that euro, it is a very wide thick piece of steel and since i have no definite picture in mind im just going to keep pounding at it and see where it takes me. The Kodachi the goal is to forge as much as possible.

Maybe some air-con duct to improve the forge insulation ? scraps are often available from refrigeration suppliers

Love seeing your progress man. Your kodachi is looking better than mine so I'm gonna have to get my damn shop put together and show you who's boss. I appreciate the challenge and inspiration, but make no mistake: it is on like Donkey Kong!
And I cannot believe I have just used that particular phrase but there it is

I'd like to post my pics of the two swords I've made this year (one custom broad sword & one custom falcata) but the design was far from historical. They are very functional, but they lean towards on the side of fantasy. I'm not sure what the folks here would think of them.
Anyway, that's for posting your set-up and I will be following!

we respect fantasy blades around here. Saito for sure does, he's made plenty of fantasy blades.

Here's a custom fantasy karambit I did a few years back. When the guy bought it, I dared him to try to break it. A few bruises and blisters on his hand later, he gave up.

Yeah, I guess so. I didn't really like it. He did, and that's what matters. I think he ended up having holes drilled (I don't have a drill press) and put some purple heart scales on it.

You know flat mild steel flat bar doesn't cost much. Also you need to mount you burner in the side of the body of the to get proper heat control.

yeah i know, I plan on scrapping this entire forge when i come into some more funds and rebuilding from scratch. My kaowool is pretty worn out, the steel shell is starting to get holes in it because it was too thin, and the flux i was using to make cable damascus ate the semprini out of the bottom lining. I also wanna get a 2nd burner and build a 2 burner style.

I have one of the JF burner you are using didn't inpress me. The reil style burners I make myself work as good if not better and are a lot cheaper to build.
You will need to use a layer refactory cememt or a cermic plate in the bottom of your forge I use refactory cememt. Trying to do forge welding without is will eat up the bare kaowool very fast. You are better off have a welding forge and a regular forge. During regular forging the flux can get on your steel.
