Looks fine. For even more security, pin or rivet the grip to the tang, through the new wide section. Then even if the pommel was to come off, the grip stays on. (In principle, this could be done to the wooden grip core before it is covered, but it's a bit late for that.)

That looks good! I like the shortened blade with that handle configuration. Nicely done.

100% agree....looks great in this shortened form, kinda reminds me of a VA Bristol but a with bit more overall size.

This looks very good to me too! + Karma for holding on and turning the THING into a sword. I would have junked it. But, a pin through the grip would make it safer, altough this might be just psychological. The construction seems real okay to me.
Cheers.

You did an outstanding job fixing the sword. I like the dimensions of it, nice! Keep up the good work Findlithui, I love seeing your customizations. +1 Karma.

Having worked metal for almost 40 years I´d say that sword (tang) was one of the worst metal jobs I have ever seen. True "hall of shame class" Very apparent they use unskilled labour.
Good save tho, bit sad that u had to shorten it.
