Starting another one this one will be thicker. Don't know what kind of steel it is agian, think 1095, it is pretty tough to forge. The stange shape of the blade doesn't help either. This blade is off my Bad Boy mower.
The blade i'm starting with.

Got the forging finsihed this morning

Forging in the point.

Shaping the belly and drawing out the blade.

Blade forging finished, the camera I using stopped working as you can see haven't got use to the new one yet.

Beside a lwan mower blade like I started with.

In the forge for the first normalizing.

1st, 2nd and 3th normalizing.

The quench.

Nice and straight no cracks.

As you can see a lot of forging went into this blade. Next up a dagger with a 8in blade.

Blade: length 16 1/2in. width 2 1/8in. thickness 1/4in. Handle: Ash length 1/2in. Overall Length: 20in. Weight: 1lb 9oz
