Yes I did. First is a British Osborne made P1780 Brass hilted light dragoon sword blade and the second is a M1854 / 1874 French Chatellerault Dragoon blade. Both are long, but the Osborne is a real bruiser. I bought these for projects, but now is also a good time to dissect them and post the findings in the Sword Construction Data Base. So, my question to those interested is: What would you want to know about the construction of these blades. I can just meassure some points but I was thinking maybe you out there also have something you want to know. I am open to suggestions. Now is the time. Once these are fitted, it is over. Cheers.

This seems like a rather novice question, but is it natural for the tangs to be bent downwards like that?
Also, the tangs look very deceptively small on those blades. I know they are supposed to be like that, but I am always surprised by the amount of weight and stress that relatively small bit of metal can support...
