I'm thinking of finally getting some gray Scotch Brite pads that are so often recommended for removing scratches, however the only thing I could find was this. Is this the right thing? I wasn't sure, and I thought I should ask first.

I thought there was a gray pad in the 400-600 grit range; but that doesn't seem to be the case (anymore?). The 3M 7448 pads would probably be the better option if the blade is still in reasonably good shape...the 7446 pads are pretty course, and would require followup with somthing else to get a decent finish. Here's a grit chart academic.evergreen.edu/projects/ ... finish.pdf

Yeah its just for getting rid of a couple of minor scratches, so finer is probably better.
Buying 20 seems a bit excessive, also the shipping cost to Canada is outrageous.
Thank you. I can't seem to find anywhere locally that sells the Scotch-Brite, so I'll probably just use these.

I found mine at O'Reilly Auto Parts store. Ask the front desk guys for them as they seem to have the big box behind the counter.

good call. auto stores sell stuff for finishing metal surfaces - high grit sandpaper etc.
