I was surfing through sword videos and stumbled upon this 4 pt series featuring the steps taken to create, bring out and then enhance a clayed hamon on a modern Bowie knife. The roots are traditional but the craftsman uses a lot of modern materials and techniques. He explains everything step by step and makes it easy to understand. I enjoyed them very much and learned a lot.

Good info! One observation I have; he obviously is not concerned about cross contamination of his polishing media. (thats a nice way to say hes messy) Or it might not really matter. But when he said, you'll work your butt off polishing, he's nor kidding.

i love polishing and i've been doing polishing only by ''finger polishing''... i guess it's time i get a small flat bar of steel . also it's another thing that makes me what to start forging (even though i'm more into japanese geometry rather than bowies)

A glass block would work for this polishing too....
