Almost finished ! Here is the work to date - The shaft is Tasmanian oak stained, polished, coated to a nice lustre. At the base I have added 300mm of polished copper tube to add balance, while not firmly fixed as yet since I'm not sure if the balance is right, it is easier to remove a little at a time than try to add some. I have also added a copper collar to match at the pointy end.

Looks great Aussie, did you make the head removable on this one or are you planning on getting more?

Looking nice I really like the copper treatment. I assume you had to shape down the wood for the pipe to slide on?

I'm really liking the copper work you're doing. I did one for a Kingdom level spear that had a hand done copper ring at the base, and I used a piece of copper wire as a long rivet all the way thru, it worked like a champ and looked great. Might be a way to hold your counter balance on...

No, this one is fixed, I have a hewing spear that is my next project and will be variable length.

The copper pipe is a sliding fit for the 29mm shaft, I went to Brighton Metal supplies and found a length that was just right, only cost $10 too
