Amazing sword. Super cutter. A katana? No. Wide, straight blade. Reminds me more of a katana and an old style Chinese executioner's sword that got in bed together and produced this child. RinC

Maybe i just can`t explain myself. I can justify many things in high price point versus functionality or pure joy. More money for more quality, more money for more speed etc but this... i just can`t. Beautiful sword, beautiful sound, beautiful car, beautiful aesthetics, woman etc but this... I can do the same discussion for mini cooper vs anything!

It's just a lot of misplaced outrage. Some guy made a thing you don't like, and some other guy bought a thing you wouldn't buy. Perspective, yo.

Sir, Obviously you do not belong to the school of thought that says that bassett hounds are so homely that they are handsome. :-)
Yeah, I do see your point. $7,500? Well, it was worth it to someone. If I had unlimited hobby funds...say George Soros or Warren Buffett slipped me a few million out of their pocket change, price would be no object and I would get this, that and the other if only to keep novelty in my life and avert the boredom that comes with endless wealth.

My thoughts as well. Definitely an amazing cutter, but no way no how a katana. The flexibility and it's edge holding properties are amazing, but the price point is way beyond what I think most reasonable people are willing to pay for it.

Interesting interpretation of a katana. The Super Assassin Katana name is absolutely hilarious and I hope the person who owns this sword would take it to Nihonto appreciation meetings and go on a long speech about how awesome it is and then proceed to bring in a tree and chop that down in front of them while flexing the blade in all sorts of horrifying ways and having it return to true. On a more serious note, I saw the length and overall weight of this sword but couldn't find other information about the point of balance, point of percussion and distal tapering, thickness at various blade sections etc.
