Ive got a blade that has what looks like some subsurface staining. is it rust beginning or what? I always keep my sword Oiled and put away not exposed so I doubt it highly that its rust. It might be some kind of staining. It honestly as a rough comparison looks like someone spilled coke on it and it dried like that kind of tint. HOw do I get my blade back to perfect shiny quality again and get rid of these stains? Ive heard that metal polish will fix it right up. WHat kind should I use ? like brasso? and how do I actually do it? should I use an abrasive cloth sponge and or smooth cloth?
The blade is 1060 highcarbon. if that makes a difference in maintenance I don't know

Metal polish like "Metal Glo" - "Auto-Sol" or other metal polish primarily designed for stainless steel, just a damp cloth and some elbow grease should do the trick, if not take pictures and put the here.
