Chinese sparring swords, particularly Jian

Ok, so this is a topic I've seen up here a few times, though most of the threads I stumble across concerning it are several years old. Particularly I'm trying to find chinese style training swords that could be used in pretty accurate training and sparring exercises, at the very least maintain particular point of balance for something like a Jian.
I have seen RSW jian, though I am always a little hesitant about those as they seem pretty expensive for something that doesn't exactly look good, per say, though never having held one in person I have no idea how accurate their pictures are. they could be the most durable things on earth but the pictures on their website make them look like they're covered in duct tape, and thats just asthetics. I have no idea on durability, point of balance, comfortable weight, flex, etc.
Little Raven does some hickory jian, and though really attractive and some hickory being great for contact, at the prices they offer them for I am also a little hesitant. personally I'd much rather pay that much for a ground up custom job using something like Ipe or Jatoba or Kattalox or verawood for that kind of price. So far its one of my frontrunners as far as a sparring option though, but again knowing so little about how they handle makes me hesitant until I hear more.
larp weapons I find are almost entirely out, but then again I have not looked too deeply into places that'd make a jian. usually they're too light, designed more to be sword shaped boffer equivalents, and the ones designed like actual jian are both really expensive and often have this "fantasy sword" look that isn't entirely a chinese jian. for most of the ones I've found its just too many inconsistencies with my intended purpose for me to consider immediately.
I have seen a few other poly attempts, as those intrigue me alot. usually more flex than wood, in some ways more durable than wood and can stand up to the elements very well with little maintenance, which is good cause I already maintain a lot of steel swords both for work and hobby (I do work as a blacksmith on the side at an art center), so having a durable well balanced sword that I can just abuse without having to worry about is great, but there in lies the problem.
master cutlery makes a poly jian that feels more like a costume sword: so thin and whippy, no balance, constantly stays bent, guard is bulky... its a vaguely chinese sword shaped piece of polypropylene.
I have experimented with modifying a cold steel poly arming sword, but single handed the blade section is too heavy to use like a jian without straining my wrist, and I haven't really the at-home workshop to cut off the disk pommel, drill and insert a threaded rod, and attach a rawlings scent stopper pommel to set the weight farther back. not even sure how it'd work either, I love the cold steel poly swords but lets face it, they're baseball bats, not fencing trainers. so so far I have no idea if there are any sparring grade poly jian out there for me yet.
Supposedly there were some Poly training swords mentioned in another thread under the name WJL, but I have not been able to determine what those are and google searches I've done for WLJ and other things just keep cutting the WLJ out. If anyone knows what that is, I'd be very curious.
Also i have considered stage steel swords for practice, btu those are a bit intense and few and far between. due to stage steel swords not actally having an edge, the balance is waaaaay off, though I could probably compensate, but I still havent found any stage steel ones with a blunted tip: for some reason they keep making stage steel jians with these pointy spear tips that seems to defeat the purpose of stage steel in the first place. plus they're just so heavy that I'd worry about using any for sparring drills without wearing a harness with higher graded armor, and thus sorts of defeats the purpose in the first place. Also attempted to use a rawlings longsword as a jian, which... sorta works I guess, but the metal guards are too wide that'd accurately get the balance down right and the way those trainers taper just makes it feel off while swinging.
Wheew, ok that was a bit of a rant, but basically I'm open to discussion on solutions or swords I didn't know about as far as getting a good sparring grade jian trainer. Bonus points if it won't break the bank. preferably something that can just be bought online, generally sending in order forms I've had bad luck with as far as martial arts tools go, but I wouldn't be opposed to it if the source is good and the perameters are good. Also if someone can properly explain to me what the WJL poly jian are so I can look into them, I'd be very grateful even if it ends up a fruitless endeavor in the end or not.
