I was wondering if anyone knows a good reproduction civil war or British foot officer sabers, I've been searching around and i cant seem to find any that can actually stand some abuse.I have looked at antiques, but they are a bit too expensive for me and I wouldn't want to chop stuff with an antique. thanks

I believe windlass' civil war sabres are often a good deal. Depending on how important handling is, there's always cold steel, but windlass is usually cheaper. Any particular models in mind?

If you want a started edge and specs that reliably will take some abuse the Cold Steel M1840 or the 1796 Brit Lt Cav are probably best bets. Some of the UNiversal Sword and Windlass items are usable, but you need to get them sharpened.
